After extending help to the Family Support Center, the chairman of Sindiatai Skid-Proof Technology Co., Ltd. yesterday went to Bethesda Nursing Home to conduct the nonskid processing project on ceramic tiles. After the work is completed, it would significantly reduce the chance of slips and falls at the home.
The president of the Bethesda Nursing Home, Wen Hsiu-E, said that their polio residents wore iron shoes and walked with the help of crutches, so they could easily slip and fall when they walked on slippery floors. When she saw this product on the TV, she immediately contacted Lai Hung-Cheng, the chairman of Sindiatai Company, who made his promise immediately that he would come to solve the problem without charge. She was deeply touched. The locations that needed to be treated include damp locations such as the bathroom, toilet room, swimming pool, colonnade and kitchen. After the treatment, the nonskid effect could last as long as 3 years. After the treatment, the floors can be skid-resistant even if shampoo, bathing lotion or even salad oil is spilled thereon.
Effective products are expensive. According to understanding, treatment of the entire nursing home would cost at least NT$200,000. But Lai Hung-Cheng did it for free. And he even said that he would be willing to help if it is needed by other minority groups. Our society needs such Samaritans who are eager to help.
